Faberge Chickens continues to progress and is under contract with a publisher! We hope to be able to share more updates towards the end of this year, until then we will be patient and hope you can be too!
Meanwhile, Flipyard Shipyard has been rethemed as Spell Bound Books is with two different publishers for review. Pat is looking forward to their feedback on the design. The new theme helps bring the game to life as players can take on character roles and use special abilities. This allowed us to increase the immersion element while maintaining the fun puzzle aspect of the existing mechanics.
While both of those projects advance towards publication several new designs have begun to take shape.

Frankenstein Academy
Jim and Pat are working collaboratively on three games. The first is called Frankenstein Academy. In this worker placement game all players have the ability to draw from the same pool of workers (Igors) as they attempt to complete their final project for the Frankenstein Academy - creating a monster and bringing it to life. In addition to competing for use of a common pool of workers the game also features a unique memory mechanic that requires players to 'study' the resource board and create a 'cheat sheet' that they will use during the game to recall key information for their final exam.
Spirit of the Trees
Evil forces have taken hold of the forest and have begun to invest the sacred trees which provide their magic essence to the tribes which surround and protect them. The spirit of the forest is crying out for help, and the shamans of the nearby tribes are anxious to answer the call, with hopes of earning the favor of the forest in order to be rewarded with all the magical essence bounty the sacred trees can provide. Though the Shaman are experts on the forest and can extract essence from the trees, they are vulnerable to attack from the evil forces which take refuge in the sacred trees. Each tribe has thus begun to train warriors who can accompany and protect the shaman from attack as they collect essence from the different types of sacred trees in order to cast the spells needed to return peace to each region of the forest. The tribe that can does the most to restore harmony to the forest will earn the favor of the sacred trees and ensure prosperity for their people for generations.
Sailor's Knots
This abstract game originated from as a part of a fictional story, and is evolving into a fully playable game. Players are challenged to use a combination of well-timed moves and a knowledge of sailing knots (reference cards provided) to capture opponent pieces. A slight variant, themed around rock climbing, is also being tested.
Mountains out of molehills
Designed as a contest entry for the Hasbro design lab, this family friendly design features simple card drafting and movement programming. As moles players tunnel underground pushing the dirt above them upwards to form hills. The higher the hill the more points it is worth, but the mole who most recently added to the hill will claim control. This creates an area control element to the game that we think new and experienced gamers will enjoy.
