newsWow! It has been quite a week for us. Both of the games, (Frankenstein Academy and Spell Bound Books) that I submitted for the Cardboard Edison award were selected as finalists. The judges feedback has been extremely helpful. Right now the priority is to get the rules as clean and clear as possible before sending the prototype off to the judges. Our friends at Galvanized Studios were also recognized as finalists with their game "Cobblestone Market" which is a great game. On Monday night we will be joining forces to host blind play tests of all three games |
A huge thank you to Dave and Jessica who took the lead on bringing that event together. After Monday I will be making final updates to both rule books and double checking all the components so that the games can be shipped out before he leaves for a work conference which will lead directly into Unpub 7. The final winner will be announced on April 6th.
In addition to the Cardboard Edison Award I returned to USAopoly to help test the latest version of "The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31." The project is now public knowledge following a press release about USAopoly's new Project Raygun division and partnership with Mondo art studio. While I can share the name of the game, he still share too many details about the game play. What I can tell you is that this game is awesome! Joe Van Wetering and the rest of the team are doing a fantastic job of capturing the feel of the film and creating a great game as well. Prior to playing I had not seen the movie and still had a blast playing; but having watched parts of the movie now I can see all of the clear connections and have to speculate that fans of the film will really love this game.
