A first draft player board from "Action News Team: 12 Hour Cycle"
Status updates
Action News Team:
Worker tokens are (almost) complete. We ran out of wood tokens part way through, but more arrived and these will be done shortly. Once they are ready the first play tests of the basic time, movement and story collecting mechanics will be done. This will provide valuable information for some of the income/upgrade mechanics that we are ironing out.
Faberge Chickens: Should start development by late March. We are hoping to see this one done and released at a convention late this year.
Mountains Out of Molehills:
Ready and waiting for development with our publisher.
Restaurateur: Ideas continue to emerge and the rules are being updated for this game. Only minor changes will be needed for the prototype so this can be ready for testing soon.
Spirit of the Trees: Still on hold. No updates.
Glockenspiel: Time and other design priorities have this on hold for now; but we are hoping to experiment with it more soon.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket: Jim is still toying with ideas for this concept.
Goblin Toboggan: No updates.
Spell Bound Books: We are still testing this one as time allows, but continue to feel good about where it is at.
Frankenstein Academy: A bit more testing for the 3-player variant is needed, but the 2 and 4 player games are very smooth.

news
Life continues to be busy for all of us. Tristan has been working long hours, Jim was sick and traveling, Pat is working and in class two nights a week (plus homework on other nights). As a result design and play-testing time has become precious and we are looking for ways to maximize productivity as we approach Unpub in March.
Pat continues to work with the planning team for UnpubMiniSD at Kingdom-Con; April 27-28 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Mission Valley, San Diego, CA. This will be the 5th Unpub Mini San Diego and the first to be held within Kingdom-Con. With two Unpub events on the horizon there should be lots of rapid development coming from our team.
In other news Pat has been fortunate to help play test some new games from Foxtrot Games and USAopoly. We can't share too much about either game yet, but we can say they are both a lot of fun. Seven other local San Diego designers/gamers joined Pat at the USAopoly HQ to play their upcoming game and had a blast doing. Tony Serebriany and Joe Van Wetering were excellent hosts and are great fun to work with. Randy Hoyt at Foxtrot shared a small PnP 2-player game that Pat has been testing at home and is having a lot of fun with. The final testing will be done this weekend so that he can send his feedback to Randy.
Check back next Friday for more updates and news!
